We are a Church of England Voluntary Aided school for boys and girls aged from 4 to 11. We believe wholeheartedly in the provision of strong moral teaching and are strongly committed to providing a Church School education.  In practice this means that the school has developed strong links with St. Paul’s church, Bentley, and applies Christian principles related to behaviour, discipline and valuing each other.  Children are taught to respect each other and the environment.

Our children are divided into seven classes by year group, each class having up to 30 children.

We have a reputation for achieving very high standards in Maths, English and Science. To enhance this, we have worked hard to develop a broad, balanced and exciting topic based curriculum. Our ICT facilities including; Laptops, Ipads and two fully equipped ICT suites, allowing the children to enhance their learning. In the infants, we use a wide variety of reading schemes to teach early reading and to encourage enthusiasm for books. We follow the Letters and Sounds scheme for our phonics teaching throughout the infant department. We also teach phonics in the juniors to ensure that the children make continued progress in this area.  In the juniors, children receive specialist teaching in PE.

The R.E. curriculum is taught through an agreed, planned programme of study from the diocese for each year group.  Our children  learn about different aspects of the Christian religion. As part of the National Curriculum children are made aware of the views and beliefs of other religions.

We take the special educational needs of children very seriously and have programmes for both less able and more able children.

The school environment is very important to us at Bentley St. Paul’s. We want the children to learn in a pleasant environment and we have worked hard to develop a wide range of exciting, interesting, calm and shady areas for the children to play in.

If you are a prospective parent interested in sending your child to our school you are invited to contact the school office to make a viewing appointment and we will be pleased to show you around our school.
